Tupelo Community Theatre is excited to announce upcoming auditions for multiple productions! Whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping on stage for the first time, we welcome all to be part of the magic.
“Plaid Tidings” is chocked full of holiday songs, Christmas favorites and a blend of 1950’s and early 1960’s classics. So please join us for a truly “heaven-sent” holiday musical that will lift your Christmas spirit with nostalgia for a bygone era filled with unforgettable music.

Plaid Tidings
Audition Details
“Plaid Tidings” is a fun family holiday musical that is the sequel to the beloved Broadway hit “Forever Plaid”. This heartwarming and hilarious musical revue brings the original “Plaids”, Frankie, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky, back to Earth for yet another chance to perform their show, but they have no idea why they have been sent back… again. The “Plaid” lads soon learn the reason when a heavenly telegram sent from Rosemary Clooney tells them their mission. That mission is to spread Christmas cheer to a world in need. And the “Plaid’s” do just that, as they charm their way into our hearts with their fun antics, wholesome humor and angelic harmonies.

Directors:
Director for this production will be Jennifer Cummings and the music director will be Lisa Hargett.
Casting:
4 male roles age 18 and up. This is an ensemble show that will require singing in a group and solo singing. Those cast in this show will need to look similar in age.
The audition will consist of:
- A cold reading from the script. Copies of the sides will be provided at the audition. No preparation needed.
- The music director will teach a portion of a song for each person to sing in a group. The sheet music will be provided. No preparation is needed.
- Each person auditioning will sing approximately 16 to 24 bars of a song of their choice to sing as a solo and must bring a copy of the sheet music. No music tracks required. An accompanist will be provided.
- Those auditioning will be taught some very easy and simple choreography movements. No preparation is needed.

Oklahoma! in concert
Audition Details
Tupelo Community Theatre and the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra are excited to collaborate on a special concert production of Oklahoma! In Concert!

Casting:
There are roles for 21 adults who sing and act. Audition scenes will be provided at the audition. Singers are encouraged to prepare a song from the show that correlates with the character you wish to audition for. Other music from the show will be taught at auditions.
